How Anemia Affects Women

A chronic condition with life-altering consequences.

Anemia reduces the oxygen-carrying capacity of blood, leaving women fatigued, dizzy, and weak. It impairs daily functioning, increases risk during menstruation and pregnancy, and contributes to complications like miscarriage, stillbirth, and maternal death. Severe iron deficiency can lead to long-term cognitive decline, weakened immunity, and reduced work productivity—especially in low-resource settings.
